One of two Tuscan scenes in the Evans & Brown collection for Koroseal, this townscape stylizes familiar landscape ideas. The treatment reflects a blend of intriguing theatrical influences – including the 1930-vintage Avalon Theater on Catalina Island near Los Angeles, and the Ziegfield Follies stage sets of Joseph Urban, an Austrian-born architect and scenic designer whose work influenced the Art Deco movement.
