Pisces Faux Fishscale Texture | Evans & Brown for Brewster Home Fashions

When they design wallpaper for homes, Mark Evans and Charley Brown draw on deep knowledge of and affection for a wide variety of artistic and decorative traditions. They start with hand drawings, and then draw on their mastery of trompe l’oeil techniques to give unusual degrees of depth and texture to the finished product. This pattern for Brewster Home Fashions features overlapping scalloped patterns, giving rise to the faux fishscales reference. The pattern itself is inspired by a pommel scroll design commonly found in Chinese lacquer designs since the Song period (960-1279).
